  • These are our personal dogs (from left to right) Lacy, Bella and Cali who we also utilize as our “Helper Dogs” during our board and train sessions. They help with socialization of the puppies that come through our program, but also help as distractions during our training sessions. Some dogs may take time to open up, but Bella has a way of getting any of our timid cases to come out of their shell!

Here at Rayo’s K9 Academy, we tailor our training to the needs of the dog and desired training of the owner because we understand that not every dog is the same. Since the start of Rayo’s K9 Academy 4 years ago, our goal has been to provide obedience and create lasting results by providing owner’s with a better understanding of their dog’s behaviors, all while improving the relationship between the two!

Meet the Trainer!

I’m Raymond and I’ve always been a dog lover. Growing up in Compton, my parents mindset to keep me off the streets was by playing soccer and staying home. At home, I kept myself busy by playing around with our family dogs, which sparked my love and interest in learning more. However, what really started it all for me was when I got a dog that I wasn’t prepared for and at the time it felt like too much to handle. I decided to do right by my dog and put her into training, ultimately sparking my interest. From there I shadowed various trainers who all specialized in different training methods, learning a bit of everything so as not to limit me when faced with a specific case or issue. I grew more passionate about working with dogs and made it my full time career.

We work 1 on 1 with you and your dog, around your schedule, in your home and throughout your neighborhood. Offered only to those local to Los Angeles County. Subject to capacity.

  • I can’t recommend Rayo’s K9 Academy enough! I’ve put Nymeria through another large B&T facility and well, let’s just say I was extremely careful in my research and vetting for another B&T to fix previous results. Rayo’s K9 Academy hit every request with a tailored training for her needs and goals. Not only that, but she was treated like one of their own! When I picked her up, she was happy, confident, and hitting everything I had brought up during the consultation. They sent me daily updates and never complained about her digestive issues (senior GSD and EPI). I’d 100% send her back for boarding and more advanced training.
